TESTIMONIAL
Ivy E. - Connecticut Educator
Marsha and I have known each other since 2010. She used to stay late at school preparing lessons for her students. I would tell her not to stay too late. After years of burnout and lack of support from administration, Marsh realized it was up to her to take care of her own well-being. Now she advocates, encourages, and promotes self-care for educators. She took things into her hands. She wrote and published the Self-Care Journal for educators. In it are simple daily prompts and gratitude. Using this journal has allowed me to reflect and breathe. For example, one of the prompts is "Reflect on a time when you listened to your needs and took a break or rest when you needed it most." When I first read that, I couldn't think of a time when I listened to my needs or body I should have. That's when I realized I really need to start taking care of myself and listening to my body because if I don't I cannot be my best self for my family or my students. Thanks to Marsha, I am now taking much better care of myself.
